Privacy Policy
Effective 2026-05-14
Fold In is a private lending app for small groups (Folds). This policy describes what we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.
What we collect
Account: email, name, and (optional) profile photo. Content you share: items you list, photos of those items, notes (e.g. care notes), borrow requests, ratings, and reports. Device: a push-notification token if you allow notifications, and basic device identifiers used only to deliver those notifications. Diagnostics: anonymized crash and performance data.
How we use it
To run the app — show your Folds, route borrow requests, deliver notifications, prevent abuse, and keep the service stable. We never sell your data and we do not track you across other apps or websites.
Sharing
Other members of a Fold see what you share into that Fold. They do not see items you keep private. We share with service providers we rely on (hosting, push delivery, crash reporting) under contracts that prohibit using your data for their own purposes.
Retention
Your data stays until you delete it. When you delete your account, we schedule deletion in 30 days; you can undo that any time before then. After 30 days your account and items are permanently removed. Borrow history visible to counterparties may persist anonymized for fairness.
Your rights
You can delete your account in Settings → Delete account. Email privacy@foldin.app to request export or rectification. Residents of the EU, UK, California, and similar jurisdictions have rights under their local laws — we honor those rights regardless of where you live.
Children
Fold In is not intended for users under 13 (or under 16 in the EU). We do not knowingly collect data from children.
